Yesterday became the day the nation celebrated the legalization of gay marriage. Which is great! I have friends who are gay/lesbians and to know they can celebrate their love is an amazing thing. Some day I hope to be a part of it as long as I am a part of their life.
With the cheering came the disgust. I had a friend on my Facebook timeline become insulted when someone (a 16 year old) claimed that her unborn son would turn gay simply because of their beliefs. Their beliefs is not what you think. She celebrated the legalization, not against. I told her in response to not listen to someone like that. And in addition to that, I said that "We're the generation that's living with this acceptance of differences".
Yesterday became a day in history. It was a step forward in making sure everyone, despite those who are against it, has their chance in Love and to be able to celebrate it.
